Gates of Troy

Gates of Troy slot game is a 5×3 reel slot developed by Play n Go with a potential max win of 3,000x your stake. The Free Spins feature is a key aspect of the game, with all frames transforming into Wilds on the final spin. It has a typical RTP rate and medium to high volatility. The theme is based on the Trojan War and features characters such as Achilles and Helen of Troy.

Gates of Troy Slot Reels

In the Gates of Troy slot game, you’ll be spinning 5 reels and 4 rows with 30 set paylines that pay from left to right on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel. Betting options range from 10p to £30 per spin, and you can either choose a value from below the reels or adjust your total bet with the + and – buttons. The autoplay feature is available in most territories outside the UK, where you can set up to 100 autospins and choose to stop it based on certain conditions.

The top prize in the game is a payout of 3,000 times your stake, which is decent but not the best in the market. On the bright side, it’s not the lowest either. The best shot at winning the maximum payout is through the Free Spins feature, thanks to the transforming Wilds.

The Gates of Troy slot game is based on the story of Achilles and Helen of Troy leading the Greeks to victory by breaching the city’s walls. The theme is executed perfectly with high-quality visuals and audio. The soundtrack has an Arabic feel to it and the sound of the gates opening as the reels spin adds to the immersive experience.

For gamers who have played Warcraft on PC, you’ll recognize the sound effects as they’re the same ones from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Although the games are unrelated, the sound effects are just as effective in the Gates of Troy slot game as they were in the PC game.

Graphics and Symbols

The reels feature the standard A-10 playing card symbols as well as higher paying symbols like vases, fruit bowls, Helen of Troy, and Achilles. Helen of Troy is the most valuable symbol, offering payouts of 5, 10, or 20 times your stake for combinations of 3, 4, or 5 respectively.

The Greek soldier serves as the game’s Wild symbol and can substitute for all symbols except the Scatter. It can also pay up to 30 times your stake. Any wins featuring Multiplier Wilds will be multiplied by the value displayed on the Wild.

Gates of Troy Slot Bonus Features

The Gates of Troy slot game features two primary bonus features. The first of these is the Guaranteed Scatters, which can trigger the main bonus feature, the Free Spins. Let’s take a closer look at how these work.

Free Spins Bonus Features

3 or more Scatters will trigger the Free Spins feature. You will get 10 free spins and any Wilds that land will be highlighted with a fiery frame. The Wilds are then added back to the reels, so the potential to land more in future spins increases.

On the final free spin, all frames on the reels will transform into Wilds, potentially leading to some huge wins.

The Guaranteed Scatters feature can randomly activate during any base game spin. Two Scatters will be fixed on the reels, giving you the opportunity to land a third and trigger the Free Spins feature.

Overall Verdict and Final Thoughts

Initially, the Gates of Troy slot game seemed to offer a lot of potential with a stunning introduction. However, my excitement was short-lived as I was disappointed with the gameplay. The visuals and audio are impressive, but the lack of bonus features let the game down.

The Free Spins feature is not particularly innovative and there simply isn’t enough substance to the game. While the presence of Multiplier Wilds is appreciated, there are no other notable features.

The maximum win of 3,000x your stake is underwhelming compared to other similar slots with higher win potential. Despite the impressive visuals and audio, the basic gameplay and lackluster bonus features make the Gates of Troy slot less appealing. While it’s decent, there are certainly better options available.

For a more exciting Greek-themed gaming experience, try Relax Gaming’s Helios’ Fury slot. It’s user-friendly, boasts an above-average RTP, and offers a massive potential max win of 50,000x your stake.
