Manchester United have relieved Jose Mourinho of his managerial duties and sent him on his way.
Michael Carrick to be appointed as the caretaker manager for the next 48 hours, with a temporary manager due to be appointed until the end of the season.
The search is now on for who will take the reigns at this prestigious club, with Mauricio Pochettino as front runner, which will not come as welcomed news for Spurs fans.
An official statement released by the club earlier today stated: “Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
This news comes after Mourinho’s last match for the Red Devils ended in a 3-1 loss at fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
A lasting question on the lips of a lot of football fans still remains. Should Mourinho or Paul Pogba left the club?
