Australian boxer Tim Tszyu is on the hunt for his next big challenge after winning the interim WBO 154-lb title with a knockout victory over Tony Harrison in Sydney last Saturday. The 28-year-old fighter is now setting his sights on undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo, whom he hopes to face in the summer.

Tszyu, who boasts an undefeated record of 22-0 with 16 knockouts, has been vocal about his desire to take on Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) and claim his title. Charlo, however, is currently nursing a broken left hand and is not expected to return to the ring until the summer.

Despite Charlo’s injury, Tszyu remains undeterred and is eager to face him as soon as possible. In fact, he has already begun preparing for the fight by sparring more rounds. “I’ve got to sit down with my coach and figure out how I’m going to do it. More rounds of sparring,” Tszyu told the media.

Tszyu’s confidence has been bolstered by his recent win over Harrison, whom he knocked out in the ninth round of their fight. Harrison, a former world champion, had been talking a lot before the fight, but Tszyu proved to be too much for him. “I think it was a special moment in Aussie boxing history,” Tszyu said.

While he waits for Charlo to recover, Tszyu may take on another opponent to stay busy. One possible option is former WBO junior middleweight champion Brian Castano, who holds a draw against Charlo. Castano hasn’t fought since his tenth-round knockout loss to Charlo last May.

Tszyu is focused on his goals and is not afraid to take on tough opponents. He brushed off Charlo’s recent comment that he looked “a little flat” in his fight against Harrison, saying, “I’m not the one that was stuttering my words. It was him.”
