The ESL One: Road to Rio 2020 Major is moving as seamlessly as can be irrespective of the ongoing coronavirus problems surrounding Esports activities. Among the two powerhouses of the European region played the most recent regional game; Mousesports versus G2 Esports. Fans around the globe were able to witness spectacular CSGO gameplay coming from both sides.
Game 1: Map Vertigo
The game 1 of the best of 3 series started with a dominant performance displayed by the players of G2 Esports. The aggressive gameplay towards bomb sites forced the team Mousesports on the backfoot. Within no time, G2 Esports secured the early rounds to 7-0 in their favour.
From round 8 onwards, Mousesports made an excellent comeback and closed the first half of game one by the round advantage of 8-7. Afterward, both teams seemed determined to secure the game and won the rounds evenly without any significant lead.
Neither of the teams was giving any openings and played smartly, but it did not last forever. G2 Esports AmaNEk made full use of his AWP in the remaining few rounds. Mousesports had no answer to this issue and lost the game despite the great effort. G2 Esports put themselves in a better spot by gaining a 1-0 lead in the series.
Game 2: Map Train
When compared the game 1, the second game was a completely different story. Mousesports were the ones that dominantly started the game. After losing the game 1, Mousesports did not let the frustration get to them and came back even harder to avenge themselves.
Although Mousesports made a comeback in game one after losing early rounds, they never let the same happen for the G2 Esports players this time around. The game 2 was absolutely one-sided since the get-go, and G2 Esports was unable to put a decent fight this time around.
After making a superb comeback this time around, the game two easily got secured by the collective performance by Mousesports boys and leveled the series by 1-1.
Game 3: Map Dust 2
The final game of the series was something worthy of high praise. G2 Esports kicked off the round in a similar fashion to the game one and dominated the early game by securing a significant lead during the first half of the game by 10-5. However, Mousesports players were looking farther from giving up.
After switching the sides, Mousesports bounced back in the second half of the game. The excellent quad-kill in a single round by the Mousesports karrigan proved to be a game-changer for his team into coming back into the game. G2 Esports was leading by 14-10, only two rounds away from winning the series, but Mousesports was just too much for them to handle.
Mousesports players seemed like they never missed a shot in their lives, and just ran over the G2 Esports. The last two round was a dominant collective performance coming from frozen and karrigan altogether. Mousesports closed the game three by a final score of 16-14, and also won the three-match series by 2-1. The credit goes to the collective team play performance shown by Mousesports players.
