Astralis vs Dignitas – Great Game! – ESL One MAJOR: Road to Rio 2020

The ESL One: Road to Rio 2020 Major is progressing convincingly regardless of the coronavirus pandemic. In the Europe bracket, Dignitas and Astralis recently came face to face in the tournament. The quality gameplay displayed by both teams was more than enough to rile up the fans watching from homes.

Game 1: Map Train

Heading into the game 1, Astralis kicked things off in a dominating manner by picking off Dignitas players left and right. Astralis players were able to carry out their excellent game plan and coordination, which worked very well in their favor. Device and Xyphe from Astralis completely crushed Dignitas in the early rounds of the game.

Despite the rough start, Dignitas players were able to hold onto their ground and made a promising comeback. Dignitas hallzerk and friberg stepped up their game and motivated their teammates, which proved useful in every possible manner.

The game was now pretty much, even as both teams were able to level the rounds by 11-11. However, in the 23rd round, Astralis planted the bomb and made a smart play by covering it with a smoke grenade. Dignitas rushed over to diffuse but got outplayed by the hands of Astralis. This turning point led to successive round victories by Astralis players, and they were now one round away from victory.

It looked like the game was about to finish at any moment, but the Dignitas players were able to keep the hopes of their fans alive. The coordinated teamplay coming from Dignitas players proved useful in outclassing the team Astralis, resulting in an Overtime.

Overtime

Dignitas boys started strong by outclassing the Astralis in round 1 of the overtime. They were able to pick off Astralis players one by one, putting them in a difficult spot to make a comeback.

However, in the next round, Astralis came back into the game, and the statement got made by gla1ive and Xyp9x. Both players displayed exceptional shooting skills and got triple kills in two decisive rounds. The game-changing shots delivered by both players secured them a victory for their team by 19-17 rounds in game 1.

Game 2: Map Dust 2

After an astonishing performance by both team in game 1, fans were hoping for incredible gameplay this time around as well. But, Astralis players came prepared to take on any challenge put forth by Dignitas.

Game 2 proved to be a decent start for Dignitas players as they were able to win two successive rounds. However, it all went down the drain as Astralis proved to be too good on the Dust 2 map. The overwhelming coordination and shooting skills of Astralis players was not something to be taken off lightly.

Every single player from Astralis played the Dust 2 map incredibly and never let the Dignitas catch up to them. Despite the collective MVP performance by the team, Astralis dupreeh got himself 20 kills, setting an example for his team. The series closed out in a dramatic manner by 2-0 in favor of team Astralis.
