ESL One CSGO Major 2020 presented itself with some exceptional gameplay and skills, coming from the best teams in the competitive world. Among the recent matches, Astralis and FaZe Clan came toe to toe in the finals of upper bracket of the event. Both teams put up a convincing fight and were sure to spark interest in the hearts of fans across the world.

Game 1: Map Dust 2

Set in Dust 2, game one kicked off with a convincing teamplay and use of utilities by FaZe Clan that resulted in them winning the pistol round. Astralis players won their first-round by securing the B bombsite and putting FaZe Clan in a tight spot to fight back.

Both teams continued to play quickly and aggressively, not letting others get a head start in the first half of the game. Both sides were displaying great gameplay by making full use of the Smoke grenades, resulting in great team fights and defences at the same time.

The game was going evenly with neither team making some major misplays and missing crucial shots. However, after an equal score of 11-11, the game started to shift as Astralis players were getting out of control. Device and Dupreeh were hinting down the FaZe Clan players with more than 20 kills on both of them.

Astralis was looking strong as they continued to outplay FaZe Clan players with excellent positioning and exceptional shooting skills. They were always one step ahead which left FaZe Clan with not much hope. However, when Astralis was just one round away from victory, Broky from FaZe Clan put forth a mind-blowing performance by getting four kills in the same round and also winning that crucial round for his team.

Although it was among the best plays in the entire game, it was just not enough to make a possible comeback. Astralis proved to be too much for FaZe Clan and closed the game 1 in their favour.

Game 2: Map Inferno

After a tremendous performance put forth by both teams in game 1, the second game did not work out for FaZe Clan at all. Astralis put forth a dominant performance on the Inferno map. This game was looking one-sided since the beginning of round 1 as Astralis won the first round by planting the bomb and not letting FaZe Clan players even to come close to put up a challenge.

From there onwards, Astralis players adequately capitalized on every opportunity that presented before them and came out on top on every occasion. In the final round of first half, Device from Astralis put up an excellent performance by taking out the players of FaZe Clan and winning the round in a 2v1 scenario.

It looked like FaZe Clan might make a comeback after switching, but it proved to be otherwise. Astralis continued their exceptional performance in the second half on Inferno map. FaZe Clan only managed to win two rounds in the second half and lost the second game with a wide margin.

Astralis players closed the game 2 in their favour with an overall score of 16-7, resulting in them winning the upper bracket finals by 2-0.
