Dota 2 competitive gaming appears smooth sailing as ever. With the Covid-19 outbreak, all the tournaments are now entirely online. The currently ongoing Chinese OGA Dota Pit league features some of the best Dota 2 Chinese teams. The most recent semi-final game got played among the two powerhouses: Vici Gaming and PSG.LGD.

Game 1: Great Combos by PSG.LGD but not Good enough

The game 1 kicked off in an exciting fashion where all five members of VG ganked around the bottom bounty rune, resulting in drawing first blood. Soon after, PSG.LGD misplayed as tiny tossed over the enemy centaur over MK, resulting in stunning and eventual death. It resulted in losing them the early opportunity to gain a gold lead and apply continuous pressure.

Despite the early mishaps, PSG.LDG put up a decent fight by making full use of the Black Hole, Global Silence and Wukong’s Command. However, it was a decent combo but not enough to win them the team fights. Eventually, it was 26 minutes into the game when PSG.LGD managed to get enemy carry TB inside Black Hole. It looked good but not enough to kill the VG heroes.

With no choices left, PSG.LGD players forcefully tapped out as they were too far behind in the game to make a possible comeback. With this victory, VG was now one game away from heading into the grand finals.

Game 2: Remarkable gameplay execution by both teams

It looked like an exciting game as both safe lanes were full of action and team fights. The continuous back and forth trades proved beneficial for both teams, cultivating for a thrilling late game. The decisive factor that proved most concerning was the presence of Phoenix’s Supernova. PSG.LGD made full use of it and won crucial team fights in the middle stage of the game.

After hitting the crucial item timings of both BKB and Blink Dagger, it was now time for VG to make a possible comeback. During the 20-minute shrine battle, the chance presented itself, and VG was able to successfully capitalize over it by killing three core heroes of PSG.LGD, forcing them on the back foot.

With the BKB durations running low on PSG.LDG side, VG players, carried out the team fights in a smart fashion by effectively kiting the duration. It resulted in them killing crucial kills over Gyro and Void Spirit. Despite the massive impact of Supernova in the early game, when the VG players popped their BKBs, it did not work out in any sort for PSG.LGD, raising further concerns about losing the game.

During 29 minutes into the game, VG went for Roshan kill in response to which PSG.LGD desperately attempted to stop them. At that time, it was already too late for LSG.LGD as they were unable to take out the VG heroes during their limited BKB durations. At that time point, the game got completely taken over by VG Earth Shaker and Lich. The remarkable combinations by both players shattered the hopes of PSG.LGD.

VG was now hitting the barracks of PGG.LGD when Earth Shaker landed a stunning Echo Slam, taking out both cores of PSG.LGD. With no options left, PSG.LGD called GG, resulting in VG heading into the grand finals of OGA Dota Pit.
